I'm really lovin frame "wreaths" this my tribute to the kids being back in school, wooo hooo!
I found this frame at the resale shop for $2.00, yes!
Please sand before you start spray painting!!! Again I tried to short-cut it and again it was a losing battle, experience talking, do it right from the beginning! Spray painted the frame Banner Red by Krylon.
The F is for Ferguson not because my kids get F's ;). The cardboard F came from JoAnn's, months ago, out of the clearance bins near the fabric cutting table. What marketing geniuses putting clearance bins where you wait your turn to have your fabric cut. Of course I needed the two they had, I didn't have a plan, but you never know when you will need 6 inch initials.
I spray painted it flat black like a black board. Not sure if all my kids even know what a black board is?
Michael's had the cutest school buttons and chalk board ribbon. I cut the backs off the buttons and glued them to the F. I made the bow using this technique, layering it with royal blue.
Finally I used some the kids extra school supplies and glue them on the frame.
I just loved how it turned out.
Enjoy the school year 24-7!

My Story (part 1)
I hope you don't feel I've abandoned you, but this is a huge week in our little town. Washington, MO presents The Washington Town and Country Fair.....
This is how my last draft started, August 8th. Then the devil decided that my life was too focused on God and our family struggles began. Well the devil did not win in fact he made us focus our lives on God even more. I have also been lead to expand my blog to disciple and not hide my Christian beliefs. I still will be focusing on Sewing, Crafting, Family, Friends, and Of Course Shopping, but remembering God has given me this wonderful life and fabulous talent.
This is the way my newest draft, started yesterday, is coming along.
I have been struggling with what I’m about to tell, not sure if I wanted to share or how to share it. After many prayers and a lot of thought, I decided that if I was going to write a blog about my life (even if I do focus on crafting) I want it to be all of my life stories.
Here's my story.....
It all started this year in, ok it all started the day I met my husband, but let’s start from August. My oldest son, who is now legally an adult, was being bullied. In the adult world it is considered it so much more serious than that. He was threaten, assaulted, and eventually had to file a restraining order against a once friend who he has known most of his life. I’m not going to go into any more detail than this, because even though he was granted the full order of protection, we all deserve a little bit of privacy.
Here the Lord was our rock!
Next I received a jury summons, the first time in my 40 years! The paper read to call the night before to see if they still needed me. Unfortunately I got the bad news to report to the justice center the next day, and oh man did I draw the short stick! I arrived the next day to find a very nice Chief Deputy of the Sheriff’s Office in a different county, assisting us. As we waited for the Judge to call us, I met some wonderful people. One wonderful lady was the founder of a local charity for under privileged families. She explained there role in our county and the high demand for all around help. Don’t get me wrong I knew there is need for her service, but the amount of need hit me like a ton of bricks.
We were finally called up to find the States Attorney General, Assistant Attorney General, and a County Prosecutor prosecuting the case. I have never been part of jury selection so little did I know this was not a good sign. The Judge introduced himself as not of my county, ok, introducing everyone else then….. telling us what the charges were against the young man sitting at the defense table, oh no no no no. I did not sign up for this. The icing on the cake if we were picked we would be sequester in his county two and a half hours from home for five or six days.
Lord, I am your servant if this is what you are leading me to do give me strength.
Well I made it past the first half of August……
Stay tuned for part 2 of 3.

Preview revealed!
I have been working on making my laundry room pretty, since I spend so much time in there. I saw this idea when I was searching laundry rooms and just fell in love with it.
So I went in search of a small box style wreath frame
and found a 8" one at Hobby Lobby.
I had plenty of unused close pins from when we had close lines at our first house (new neighborhood "outlaws" them). I spray painted the wreath frame ivory. Let the paint dry a few days before adding the close pins to ensure curing, other-wise the paint will stick to the close pins.
I tried a few different patterns, before I settled on this one
First row pin one on the last bar, one on the second bar. Next row pin one on the third bar.....(none on the first bar). You can play around to find the best pattern for you.
I love how this turned out. My laundry room is still a work in progress, but this is my progress so far. More to come....
If have any ?'s comment below.

Decorating with Vacation Memories
Do you collect things on vacation, take pictures, or both. I'm in the both category. What do you do with them after vacations over? Are you a scrapbooker? Yes. Do pictures just accumulate on your SD card? Sometimes. Do you use your collected things or just pack them away? I packed them until recently. If you answered yes, no, maybe so, to any of or all of these; I have some ideas for you....
We are beach vacationers, we collect sand, rocks, driftwood, shells, lighthouse figures, books, pictures, and whatever else tickles our fancy.
We have a beautiful mantel and sideboard that gets different decoration themes quite often and here is this years summer "beach" theme....
We brought home sand, shells, lighthouse figures and photos, antique buttons, rocks, driftwood, books and many many pictures from our trips to Michigan and Florida. I love the look of filled glass containers; I put my memories and collections together.
Don't forget to add some personal photos too, of family or just objects it makes it so personal.
Really can't wait until our next vacation or weekend trip to bring home more memories to play with.

National Lipstick Day
So do you wear lipstick everyday, only during the week, only on weekends, special occasions, or never? I'm a special occasion wearer, but it's Monday, National Lipstick Day or not, today is not a special occasion. Or is it?

What's for Dinner?
One of our new favorite recipes... Sweet and Spicy Bacon Chicken. (Thanks Sandra from Diary of a Recipe Addict) Our favorite way to prepare it is to grill it, but no time for that tonight so we baked it....
