Catching up

Well, I have been busy with kids sports. Henry #7 QB, we are 2-0!

Darin's grandma turned 99, April 23rd. This is Grandma Betty and Harley on Easter.

I have been very busy enjoying my hobby! Changeable flip-flops ,matching headbands and peasant tops for the girls!

I had a wonderful birthday weekend. I sewed and the family relaxed.

How life flies!

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since my last post. I promise to get the tut for the hanger bow/headband keeper done this weekend and posted Monday.
Hosting a basic sewing class at my house tonight. I so excited! I have started work on a website and signed up for classes at our local college. I should be nice and busy for the next year and a half ;).
It is sunny here today so I'm going enjoy the sun a little today while I get ready for tonight.

Easy Bow and Headband keeper

Ok... my girls are forever losing their hair-pretties (as we call them) in the jungle of a closet. We have tried the whole basket thing and they just seem to get smushed flat. So I decided this morning to make something easy and with things I already had at the house.

So I took....

• a child size plastic hanger
• 2 pieces of ribbon any length
• a lighter to melt the ribbon ends
• a hot glue gun
• and 2 book rings

and this is what I came up with easy tutorial coming Monday!

Wow

What a long week it has been.....

Henry was sick on Monday, Sophi, Tuesday thru today. She will finally go back to school tomorrow, pizza day. Grandparents day was yesterday and all 4 grandparents were able to attend this year. Today was the balloon launch at school, very cool. Our annual dinner auction on Saturday, Paris in Spring, Oooh Lalaaa!

I just went pattern crazy at Joann's today. Simplicity patterns for $1.99 each!
New shoes from Macy's 20% off, and Easter shoes and tops for the girls 40% off at Justice!

The sun is shining and we are going to enjoy the rest of the beautiful day (after I pick up the kids from school).

Spring????

We have had a long, cold and snowy winter here in the Mid-west. But on the bright side we have had 3 days in a row of beatiful sunshine and 50 degree weather. The kids have been playing with the dog outside. My spirits are up. Now I really have to hit the gym 3-4 days a week, swimsuit weather will be here before you know it!

Movie Morning????

Yes, Mollie and I are going to have movie morning. She has picked out Annie (the original) to snuggle on the couch with her mommy and watch.

Dog Tired!

Well, Mollie has managed to wear out the puppy for the second day in a row. The other three are very jealous that Harley has become her best friend. He follows her every minute of the day!

Finished, Sophia's skirt today. It turned out great and the matching headband! Now to find a shirt to go with it, to buy? or to make? and red???, yellow?. So many decisions.

Nothing Ever Goes as Planned!

Well didn't make it to grandma's house.

Never started the headband tutorial.

Hubby came home from work not feeling well.

Tomorrow's a new day..........

Over the River and Through the Woods......

To grandmothers house we go, today.

Mollie and I are going to visit with my grandma after pre-school. I can't wait, it's been about 3 weeks. I love my grandma.

Then putting the tutorial together for the fabric & ribbon headband. I hope my girls love them as much as I love making them.

Goal: Third day in a row I've been to the gym. That 5#'s by Easter just maybe a do-able goal.

Tomorrow's .......of the day, a easy recipe that will sure to please and impress. (My kids, the most picky in the world, even ate it.)

Play Time

Today's......of the day. Was a recipe for

Traditional Play Dough

1 cup flour

2 tsp cream of cream of tarter

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup water

1 TBSP oil

food coloring (opt.)


Mix all ingredients, add food color last.

Stir over med. heat until ball forms.

Cool 5 mins.

Knead until smooth and blended.

Store in air tight container in fridge.

Four children keep me hopping all the time. So why can I not lose the weight from my fourth?

• Age, yes age has something to do with it :p
• Food, trying hard to start eating healthy, cooking healthy is a big one!
• Exercise, my goal is to go to the gym 3 days a week.

I love to sew/craft! You could say it is my passion. My Great-grandmother tought me to sew at the ripe age of 14. Now I am sewing on her Pfaff and smiling with every stitch. My goal is to turn my passion into a business.

Spending time with the kids and hubby. Not enough quality time is spent in this family.
