DIY Dishwasher Detergent

After making this dishwasher detergent 2 weeks ago, I finally ran out of the
picture by: Being creative to keep my sanity
store bought stuff. Yea! Silly I know first how can you be so excited about dish-washing detergent (maybe I've been a stay at home mom to long) and second why wait (well I'm to cheap to just stop using the stuff I bought).
Okay so I washed my first load with 1TBSP (yes 1) and my dishes were so clean and shiny. I guess I just thought my dishes were as clean as they could get with the old stuff. Just a note my dishwasher is new too.
This stuff is less expensive and works better than the store bought detergent, so give it a try and put a few bucks in the vacation jar.
Here is the link Being creative to keep my sanity blogspot. I'm trying the laundry soap next.

New Bag

This is my latest creation. First time I've tried to sew anything other than material. I love the way it turned out and the best thing, it's for myself.

Best CrockPot Pork Tenderloin!

We love a good grilled pork tenderloin at our house. The problem is, it's 40 degrees and raining, COLD!!! So I tried our favorite marinade + crock pot = love! Everyone just ate it up (except my Mollie). So I wanted to share this recipe with you.
2lbs pork tenderloin (mine was 2.25lbs.)
1 pkg McCormick Brown Sugar Bourbon marinade (found mine at Wal-mart)
1/2 cup Southern Comfort (or you can use regular bourbon)
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp white vinegar
put all the ingredients in the crock pot then lay the pork on top and cook. I cooked my partly frozen (mostly thawed) pork in on high for about 3 hours, I did flip mine a few times but not necessary. Then on low for about 3 hours. At last on keep warm until we ate about 2 hours later. Perfect! If you want to leave it all day you might want to cook it on low for about 8 hours.
It was fall apart good.

Hope you enjoy!

Success!

Our tinted lip-glosses are a success. We made pink and red tinted and ...drum roll....chocolate scented. Yes it is brown but it goes on with no real color and it isn't sweet it is just scented. If I would make sweetened lip-gloss my girls lips would be forever chapped from licking it off there lips :). We are selling them for $2.00 and $.50 from each container sold is being donated to The American Heart Association. These make a great stocking stuffer.

Raising Money!

So the 7th fundraiser of the school year, came home on Monday. This time it is a great cause "Jump Rope for Heart", but how do you raise money again and so close to the holidays? You decide to start a little business and donate a portion of the profits to The American Heart Association. My girls are making lip-gloss and foot/body scrubs for the cause. We spent the day shopping for our ingrediences, so we can spend tomorrow putting together our product line.
Of course we have to mix-up a batch of peppermint foot scrub to try in the bath tonight. I think I may like this new venture.
Wish us luck!

My baby is 7 today!

She sat there for a long time with the candle burning, her sister jumping up and down about wax on the cake, and she says "I don't know what to wish for, I have everything I want." I love her and her simple pleasures.

Crap my kids do!

My Mollie has a real aversion to trying any food other than chicken nuggets, peanut butter, corn, and apples (of course chocolate and cookies). A couple of months ago we got her to try cinnamon toast and like it. Today we are out of cinnamon, but we have cinnamon bagels, reluctantly we got her to try it and she likes it.
Now here's the funny part; she won't let anyone watch her eat, sooo she is hiding under the table. I couldn't stop laughing, (but without her knowing I'm laughing) I'm crying I'm laughing so hard.
I LOVE my kids!!!

Come on!

I just bought my copy of the August issue of Peoples Style Watch, to see what I have to look forward in fashion this fall. As I'm flipping through trying to deside how I can do the looks I like on the cheap (cheaper than their version of a cheap outfit), when I spot an add for Jessica Simpson shoes Come on really! I admire her for feeling beautiful in her skin and being a real woman size. I admire her for starting her own shoe line, which the real woman can afford, but do real woman want to wear 6 inch heels?
What do you think
Have a beautiful day?

The top 10 Fall 2011 colors for women are:

So what colors will you be adding to your fall wardrobe? Do you follow trends? If you do which ones? Clothes styles, colors, makeup??? I don't follow many of the "trends". I like classic pieces with a few cheaper "trendy" pieces, so once the trend is over, no guilt getting rid of them. Makeup well I just love to play with eyes and lips but certainly not together. My favorite thing is to find the best bang for my buck. I'll be blogging about "best values" and "cheap trends vs. value classics" in the next coming weeks. Hope you enjoy.
